Did you ever stop to think about how valuable the content in your blog is? Really. It’s super valuable. It promotes your business. It provides your customers with valuable information. And it makes you relatable.

And if you finally hired a writer to take care of your blog, you’re connecting with customers pretty regularly – without putting much thought into it.

But…not everyone reads blogs.

And the people who don’t read are potential customers too. What’s a business owner to do? Find those customers, of course.

How?

At the risk of reviving a 1990’s cliché, it’s time to think outside of the box…erm…blog. Here’s how:

Podcasts
Take a blog post that got people talking and invite someone to talk about it with you. Use the blog to provide a rough script for the conversation – record the conversation, post it to your website, and voila! Now you have an audio version of your blog and the discussion around it. Podcasts reach people who aren’t readers and folks who prefer to consume their content in a talk radio format.

Blog Series
Dig deeper into some subpoints from a really popular post. Rework them into their blogs within a three or four-part series. Tie it all together by telling a story illustrating how you used all of these points in the post that concludes the series. Series are perfect for customers who want to dig deeper or the consumer who doesn’t have time to dig through a bunch of blog posts to find related content.

Infographics
Some audiences are more visual and retain information better with graphics. If you’ve got a blog that’s heavy in data and statistics, you’ve got a great candidate for an infographic. These can stand on their own as social media posts or you can link them together into a slide deck. And use the deck for a webinar (see below).

Ebooks
Those of you who’ve been blogging for a while have enough information for an ebook. Ebooks help you reach yet another audience. Promoting your ebook can help you grow your email list. Simply add a link on your website inviting visitors to sign up for your ebook and you’ve got a new subscriber.

Audiobook
Once you’ve finished that ebook, you can easily make it into an audiobook by recording yourself reading it out loud. Or, for a small investment, hire voice talent to read your book out loud. Plenty of folks don’t like to read but love listening to audiobooks during their workout or their commute. These people are sure to jump on the opportunity to listen to your audiobook.

Social Media Images

Similar to infographics but smaller, social media images are a great way to grow your following via Instagram. And Instagram offers you a completely different audience than Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin. Craft snapshots of the data from your blog into visually appealing posts and include a link back to your website to give the curious consumer a look at the bigger picture.

Quick Video Tips

Audiences love video. And with the technology we have at our fingertips, there’s no reason why all businesses shouldn’t be using video. Short, engaging, and entertaining videos reach yet another audience segment and can direct them back to the source material.

Webinars

Put your blog into a slide deck, add some narration, and stream it on your site. Some people see the word “Webinar”; and think “this is a serious learning opportunity”; Those folks will sign up and attend. And you’ve just added even more people to that email list of yours.

Guest Blogging
If you’ve got a blog that had some traction with a certain segment, you can rework the blog and pitch it to sites that might have a similar audience. Or pitch it to publications. Guest blogging puts your information in front of an even wider audience. And, you can link back to your original site in your bio.

Republish on LinkedIn
LinkedIn’s new publishing tool is a great way to reach new potential customers and get the word out about your business. When you publish on linkedIn, it creates a canonical link back to your site – generating more traffic. And in case you’re wondering how to do this, check out these great tips and tricks.

Print Physical Copies

Give potential customers something memorable and useful. And something that will direct them back to your website so that they can read more of your blogs – and maybe even subscribe!
