We get a lot of clients who want help with their email and social media marketing. We get it, not only can it be confusing to use these tools effectively, but they usually just don’t have the time. We’re not sure if you know this, but it turns out that running a business, big or small, is pretty time-consuming. ????

There’s also no magic bullet (that we’ve discovered) that works for all businesses. Sometimes, the best way to describe what makes a good social media or email campaign is to simply look at a good one. So we’ve put together a group of campaigns that we love with the hopes that maybe they’ll inspire you.

Email Campaigns

American Apparel – Cut to the chase

This email from American Apparel is very effect

Give for one reason: you know exactly what the offer is without really having to read anything. In about 2 seconds, you get the message. You don’t have to read any body of text or waste any time. That’s one thing most people are short on, so keep that in mind when you design your own email. In most cases, the shorter the better. Also, you don’t have to be a professional graphic designer to make an email look like this. You could use an easy drag and drop software like Canva to make this kind of graphic.

PEEL – It’s a mystery

Everybody likes a little mystery, right? We think so, but our favorite cartoon was Scooby Doo so maybe you don’t feel the same way. And if you don’t like Scooby Doo then I think you should go. We’re kidding! If you stay, we’ll send you a mystery donut from your local donut shop. See! The mystery works! Thats why this email works. The graphics and colors are attention-grabbing and the message is clear.

This is a great way to increase your click-through rate of your email. Even if they don’t end up purchasing, most people will click just to see what it is. How can you incorporate something like this into your next email campaign?

Social Media Campaigns

AirBnb – Make the best of the worst

When most countries stopped traveling and tourism altogether, AirBnb needed to act quickly. So instead of offering discounts or incentives that would risk the health of their customers, they showed everyone what kind of company they really are. They offered free housing and lodging to first responders and increased their cleaning regulations.

Sure, they were essentially offering their service for free, but they built up an incredible brand image that will last for years to come. They also launched an Online Experience feature that would help people feel like they were traveling when they weren’t able to.

Spotify – That’s a wrap

If you spend any time on social media, you’ve probably seen people posting their Spotify wrapped. If you haven’t been spending much time on social media, you go girl. Or guy. You go everyone! Anyway, the Spotify wrapped posts have become somewhat of a tradition now and the hashtag starts trending around the same time every year.
What is it? Spotify will send you your stats for the year about your most played song, your favorite artist that year, etc. People love to share them because they can be funny, surprising, or unique. Did you listen to Mambo No. 5 327 times last year? If you didn’t, you missed out. The point is, Spotify found a way to connect with their audience that incentivized a conversation about their service. Now, every year, #SpotifyWrapped trends. Mission accomplished!

Now it’s your turn! What awesome new marketing campaigns will you create? We can’t wait to see them. If you still need some help brainstorming and making your creative campaign ideas a reality, give us a call! We’ll help you create new email and social media campaign ideas and make them actually happen. Let’s work!
