Is your email marketing serving as a trigger for generating more business?

Jonah Berger, author of Contagious: Why Things Catch On knows a whole lot about what makes businesses, products and services popular.  According to him, success of a given brand or business can be largely traced to the company/product/brand’s triggers used in email marketing.  (FYI-In this case, we’re not talking about a triggered email which is sent automatically after you buy something online.)

Triggers are what make your product/business or service memorable, therefore keeping you at top of mind for your clients. So it’s worth spending the time to ask yourself: “What makes me and my business memorable?”

Is it a catchy slogan?  A knack for finding the best viral videos and posting them to Facebook?  Witty Tweets?  Funny ads? A commitment to giving back? Once you have determined why you are memorable (or at least deserve to be, gosh darn it!) it’s important to remain consistent in emphasizing those triggers in all of your email marketing.
